North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician

Providing Instruction in:

Certified Firefighter - Can deliver the new North Carolina Fire Commission Firefighter Standards based on the 2002 Edition of NFPA 1001. Established Instructor with the following delivery agencies: Wake Technical Community College, Johnston Community College, Durham Technical Community College, Vance-Granville Community College, Cape Fear Community College and Halifax Technical Community College.

Live Fire Training Specialist - Can deliver training in live fire operations, particularly in structures and burn buildings. Qualified to adhere to NFPA 1403 Live Fire Training Standard, while conducting effective fire training.

Emergency Vehicle Driver - This course deals with the safe operation of emergency vehicles, driving skills, legal implications of emergency driving, departmental Sop's and case histories. Certification is driving portion of the driver / operator standard.

Health And Safety Officer (National Fire Academy Class) - Enables the student to identify and analyze health and safety aspects that affect emergency responder safety in both emergency and non-emergency situations.

Incident Safety Officer (National Fire Academy Class) - Enables the student to identify the duties of the Incident Safety Officer, and his responsibilities at various types of incidents.

Leadership I, Strategies For Company Success (National Fire Academy Course) - This course addresses the following topics: Decision-Making Styles, Problem Solving and Running a Meeting. Pre-requisite for Leadership II & III.

Incident Command System (National Fire Academy Class) - This class identifies the five functions of the Incident Command System, different type of responses, different types of command structures, legal requirements for using the Incident Command System and how to implement the Incident Command System on any response.

Arson Detection for the First Responder (National Fire Academy Class) - This class helps the First Responder to identify signs of arson and help identify when to have an investigator assist with cause and determination investigations.

American Heart C P R - Can provide initial or re-certification classes for American Heart Health Care Provider or Heartsaver courses.
